Dr James Morton is a General Practitioner with an interest in climate, sustainability and planetary health. He is also a professional amateur.

He has authored 7 best-selling books: on sourdough, Shetlandic cooking, brewing, baking and bread, respectively. He is an internationally respected food writer, baker and brewer. He is well known as a finalist in the Great British Bake Off.

He continues to work full time as an NHS GP and campaigns for a more sustainable healthcare system.

In his spare time, he builds bikes and cycles them, roasts coffee and chases after two children and a large greyhound.
