2016-2019: Out of Town Brewing Limited, Co-owner. 2020: merger with Consolidated Craft Breweries Ltd (CCB). 2023: Relinquished shares in CCB without remuneration, to divest from alcohol and reduce conflict of interest

2020: Founded Kelvinside Coffee roastery. 2021: trade paused due to personal circumstances

Father Tom Morton is a freelance journalist, Labour councillor and former BBC Scotland radio presenter.

Previously campaigned against Scottish Independence as part of ‘Better Together’ campaign.

Current stance on independence: neutral.

Wide voting record with no current public commitment to any political party or organisation. Focus on health, health inequalities and climate issues.

Past controversies:

Publication of controversial poem in ‘Shetland: Cooking on the Edge of the World’. This, combined with claims made by co-author, provoked campaign against the book, received threats of violence; published extensive statement in Shetland Times with apology.

Once messed up in a technical challenge on the Great Christmas Bake Off, but then saw what Chetna was doing so copied her. Still lost.
